I like the simplicity of this pattern. After designing the model, I realised that I had made an error: although a crocodile has five toes on its front foot, it has only four toes on its hind foot. However, rather than spoil the symmetry of the pattern, I decided to just tuck the extra toe away inside the foot. (This also turns out to be anatomically correct - the skeleton of a crocodile reveals a vestigial fifth toe hidden inside the hind foot.)
